Windows (Microsoft)

Function

Microsoft Windows is the operating system software used for most personal computers (PCs).

The current version is XP.  The next version, named Vista, is expected in 2007.

Access

Windows must be installed on the client computer or other device.  On the medical campus, most desktop Windows systems are part of the "medical domain" and require login at the time the computer is started.  For such systems, the login ID is the Medical ID.
