Pointsec is whole-disk encryption software for portable computers.

Access

Pointsec will be installed on all new laptops purchased by medical campus departments. If you need the encryption software installed on an "old" laptop, contact the Help Desk at 305-243-5999. Installations are scheduled on a first-requested, first served basis.

Loss or theft of protable computers containing sensitive data is one of the most important security vulnerabilities facing organizations today. Users who cannot avoid keeping sensitive data on a laptop should have this software installed. Pointsec encryption technology is subject to U.S. Export Administration Regulations and is now allowed to be used in certain countries. For more information on these restrictions, click here.
