Network access

On the medical campus, network access is provided via:

• a wired network -- using standard Ethernet cabling;
• a wireless network -- that covers most of the campus with 802.11b/g W-Fi.

Off-campus access from remote locations is provided via:

• your Internet Service Provider's service - which may be broadband (DSL or cable modem) or dial-up modem (regular telephone line); 

There are also mechanisms to provide access for your mobile phone or PDA.

Responsible network use

Be aware that all activity on on-campus networks is monitored.  (So is remote access using VPN services.)  The Medical Center's network facilities are provided for legitimate, work-related activities.  Any other use risks disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or expulsion from academic programs.
