Intrusion Detection/Prevention (IDP)

Intrusion Detection/Prevention (IDP) systems reside within the campus network to identify and prevent network attacks, in order to sustain network operations and business continuity.  IDP systems actively monitor traffic that passes through the network internally, externally or a combination of both.

IDP systems work in conjunction with the network firewalls, inspecting network traffic signatures and looking for anomalous patterns, to determine what should (and should not) be allowed entry or exit.  These systems also look for anomalies in traffic, attempting to anticipate malicious behavior.

If you have questions regarding our Intrusion Detection/Prevention systems, please contact our Network Engineering group.
