UPDATES TO EXCHANGE EMAIL

Over the next few months, Medical Information Technology will be upgrading the hardware and software for the medical campus Exchange email system.   The first evidence of this change will be visible to users of Outlook Web Access – known locally as “webmail” – starting tonight.  OWA’s login page will be different, allowing you to select a standard full-featured version or a “light” one (for a shared computer, or where you can’t use Internet Explorer). 

Users of OWA know that it is a convenient way to access Exchange email using a web browser from any computer, without requiring Outlook, Entourage or other email software to be installed.  But even using Internet Explorer, with which it works best, OWA has provided more limited functionality than Outlook.  The new version, which you’ll see in coming months, is much more robust.
