Function

Communite is the University's voice mail system.  Users can set or change settings for their personal voice mailboxes, and send or retrieve messages, both from a phone or a Web interface (use link above).

Access

You must first "register" the telephone extension you will be using in the MyUM system.  Then you can go to a telephone for the rest of the setup, or use the Web interface (link above) for additional setup and subsequent changes.   The Web interface uses the Cane-ID and associated password for access.

Documentation

For brief setup instructions, click here. You can download the full Voicemail User Guide (PDF, 2 MB).   Alternatively, visit http://www.miami.edu/network/ and look under "Quick Links"; click on Communite VoiceMail for feature information, instructions and messaging tips.

Support

Contact the Telecommunications Department at 305-284-6565, option #1.

Additional considerations

While most standard transactions can be done by phone, the Web interface is recommended for complicated set-ups (such as creation of "follow-me" and forwarding rules).

System administration

Communite is managed by the Telecommunications Department.
